As an American investment institute seeking to boost the image of the industry in China, Morning Star required strict attention to the construction details of its office. Highlights include glossy lacquer planks and friction-fit joinery. Through effective communication channels, the project met execution standards, as acknowledged by the client and designer.
EDG took the opportunity to dive into the Plantronics's culture as the proud manufacturer of light-duty communication headsets before conceptualizing the design of its new workspace. As a result, the whole area was developed to embody the spirit of a fast-paced, high technology environment. Two unique design features included: skylights with acrylic lighting fixtures and constellation patterns painted on the ceiling of first, second and third floor halls. Most significantly, this project was edg's first to achieve both LEED Gold and Silver Certification.

Inspired by the company's commitment to sustainabil-ity and desire to achieve LEED NC Gold Certification, edg created the interior design concept "Beautiful Blue" for Atlas Copco's industrial campus. In addition to distinctive light blue tones and geometric patterns, a number of sustainable strategies were used, includes optimize energy efficiency, maximize daylight views and use regional, recycled and rapidly renewable materials.
This large clothing company worked with edg and IDEO to develop the design concept "Food = Communication Space" for the expansion of its office in Hong Kong. Numerous in-depth space-use investigations and interviews lead to a blurring of boundaries between casual and formal settings, while sustainable materials including cork tiles: OSB board, goat hair carpet, bamboo and recycled-content furnishings were selected to reflect the raw nature of the company's lifestyle brands. This informed effort and our team's site coordination was highly praised by the client.
